This statement demonstrates the commitment of both management and employees to reducing the environmental impact of our activities. Our code of practice shows what we are working towards in all our printing & manufacturing activities. • We actively encourage and promote the use of FSC Certified Paper, 100% Recycled Paper or an element of recycled fiber. • We segregate, re-use and recycle the waste unavoidably produced in our production processes. • Our catalogues, pricelists leaflets and brochures are now printed on FSC Papers or 100% Recycled Paper. • Conserve natural resources used in manufacturing. • Trim our energy use by being more efficient, creating less waste and recycling what’s left. • Work with suppliers and customers to encourage them to do their bit. • Meet all regulatory and consent requirements affecting our business. As a values-led organization, Sandler Seating is increasingly integrating the protection and preservation of global resources into our everyday business practices. It’s part of doing what is right and means that we are committed to sustainable, re- sponsible and thoughtful environmental behavior. We realize that we have a long way to go, but we’re pleased with our initial steps to reduce our impact on the environment. Going forward, our commitment is to consistently improve upon and expand our environmental stewardship efforts, while continuing to collaborate with other advocates who share our values. Interwoven through every step is our commitment to: • Minimize waste generation and maximize recycling. • Partner with not-for-profit organizations to promote reuse. • Conserve energy and preserve natural resources. • Promote the increased use of recycled content paper. • Partner with environmentally responsible suppliers. We use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified printing companies. The public has become increasingly interested in making responsible choices when purchasing wood products. The For- est Stewardship Council (FSC) was created in 1993 following the Rio Earth Summit to change the practice of responsible forestry worldwide. The FSC principles and criteria include conserving biological diversity, conserving old growth forests, protecting the well-being of indigenous groups, and slowing global climate change. To earn FSC certification and the right to use the FSC label, an organization must first adapt its management and operations to conform to all applicable FSC requirements. What the FSC rules prescribe is implemented in forests around the world. This is how FSC makes a positive impact. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. All products carrying the FSC Logo have been independently certified as coming from forests that meet the internationally recognized FSC Principles and Criteria of Forest Stewardship. This allows us to print on FSC Certified Papers and provide you with a guaranteed FSC product that has been tracked from its point of origin to the point of it being printed and dispatched. Only FSC Approved Printers with the FSC Chain of Custody Certification may print the FSC Logo - known as a claim - onto your order when using FSC Certified Paper or FSC Recycled Paper. The FSC standard has global support from highly regarded organizations. Choosing FSC certified papers is one way a com- pany can show environmental responsibility. These papers present no difference in quality or print performance as the differ- ence is about forest management, not papermaking.
